Western Utility Helps a Wish Come True

For the second year in a row, Western Utility has helped “Make A Wish” come true for an Illinois family in need. As a platinum sponsor for the Make A Wish Will County Golf Outing and Fundraiser, Western Utility has helped grant a wish for a family with a sick child in the Grundy/Will County area of Illinois.

“This was not just a golf outing,” said Bill Sanchez, director of business development, who attended the event on behalf of Make A WishWestern Utility. “This was our company’s chance to help make a wish for a sick child in our community come true,” he added.

Western Utility has been a sponsor of this event and supporter of Make a Wish for the past two years. The event, which was held at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien, Ill., included golfing , lunch, dinner and many fundraisers to raise additional funds for the family, who wished to remain anonymous. Other large corporations attended and sponsored the event, such as NIPSCO, Exxon Mobil and Citgo.

Every year, nearly 1,200 children in Illinois are newly diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. Make-A-Wish® believes that wishes are an important part of the overall care and treatment of these children. Each wish offers the opportunity for a joyous, life-changing experience. Since 1985, Make-A-Wish Illinois has granted more than 13,000 wishes to children across the state with the support of 1,400 volunteers and numerous donors and other supporters.
