Western Utility would like you to meet Buddy Hix, Project Manager II, who joined us in July 2016. With nearly 15 years of construction industry experience, he has been managing the underground placement of all fiber and conduit for the Comcast Megabuild project in Chicago.
“Buddy’s City of Chicago experience has been a definite asset for us,” said Tim Hayes, President, Western Utility. “He has done a great job supervising the installation of more than 50 miles of conduit for the Comcast project,” he added. “Please join me in thanking Buddy for his contributions to the Western Utility team.”
Buddy joined Western having worked for a local engineering firm, where he supervised sewer and water work throughout the City of Chicago for the past seven years. He also owned and operated his own construction business that built entryways to large residential subdivisions.
Buddy earned a Bachelor’s in Business from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. He has his Certified Assistant Project Manager (CAPM) certificate and is studying to take the PMP exam in April.
“Western Utility is a great company with great people,” Buddy shared. “I am really enjoying the new challenges of my job,” he added.
Buddy lives in Sandwich, Illinois, with his wife of almost 15 years and his children Nicholas (25), Taylor (23) and Zach (17). In his spare time, he enjoys refereeing basketball, umpiring baseball and coaching his son’s travelling baseball team.
