img_4972  On Saturday, September 10, 2016, a team of 10 employees and their families go  downright dirty when they participated in a charity event to benefit Multiple Sclerosis (MS) called MS Muck Fest. The event – a 5k run through 14 obstacles for fun and team building – was held at the Lake County Fairgrounds at 1060 E. Peterson Rd. in Grayslake, Ill.

“For those who participated in this great charity event and who donated, I wanted to thank you all for your time and generosity as we were able to raise $1,950 this year,” said Bill Sanchez, director of img_8501-1business development for Western Utility, who was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. “As the team slipped and slid through the mud and obstacles of MuckFest MS, the day was filled day with laughter, camaraderie and knowing we were raising funds for a great cause – helping to end multiple sclerosis,” he added.

Refreshments were provided after the event. Spectators were free of charge and children played in the free Lil’ Muckers play area.

img_8509-1“We want to end MS. Even though the event is built for laughs from start to finish, we were on a serious mission to advance cutting-edge research and support the life-changing work of the National MS Society,” said Sanchez. “I am excited that Western Utility had a team to participate in this fun family event for such a great cause,” he added.
